Dance is the embodiment of the divine, and is the other half of music. Dance is one of the most direct forms of communion. It is also an expression of celebration, a way of realizing the eternal, God-self and transmuting our beingness to usher in the New World being born.

Traditionally, men seem to gravitate toward musical expression, and women tend to embody the receptivity of dance. Ultimately, we are all of it, and outpicture the call and response as a dialogue of sorts. The main purpose is the giving of thanks and praise to Creation - in gratitude for the rejuvenative gifts that It always offers It's children.

There is a sacred tantric geometry to dance, and especially in the community dance. The circle of shivas holding safe, supported space for the Shakti Godess to flourish is the traditional arrangement. Many westerners tend toward secular dance expression, where it is "my practice" and "my space". Relearning right relationship in dance communion opens the flood gates of oneness and the ego mind can disintegrate. Then our role as channels brings thru tremendous rememberance of true-self, thru ancestors, devas and angels.

Ministry of Dance

Gabriel loves nothing more than to dance with Spirit. All thru his life Gabriel has been called to rhythm and motion. Holding space and raising a sphere of energy is his tantric nature and communal celebration shakes thru his blood and bones. Wether live or recorded music, Gabriel is usually "the first white guy to give it up" when Spirit calls.

Since the music at many dances often lacks a foundation in acoustic instrumentation and true musicianship, Gabriel has been lead to share his music and minister as a DJ. He has DJ'd at Harbin several times, and is starting a Trance-Mutational Moon Dance (EVENTS) to bring in the ritual element. His music tastes might be described as "organic trance jazz roots fusion."

The exercise of dance is the most grounded expression, drawing on kundalini energy for motivation. This energy can be coaxed like a snake with a horn, or an african dancer by the drum. Many westerners need to start on the floor to access this energy. Contact dance is wonderful for this, as it is improvisatory and very receptive in nature, depending on balance of give and take with partner(s).
